Chiranjivi — The God Who Forgot cover
Book highlight Chiranjivi — The God Who Forgot Varun Acharya · Mythological Fiction He could carry a mountain across the sky. He could not remember that he could. As a child, Hanuman reached for the sun — and the gods reached back. The sages who loved him laid a strange mercy upon him: you shall forget your strength, forget what you are, until one who remembers you speaks. So the mightiest being of the Ramayana grew up ordinary, a servant among servants — until an old bear on a despairing shore stood up and gave him back his name. But that is only half the story. Hanuman is a chiranjivi — one of the deathless. In a small river town in our own century, a caretaker called Bajrangi has been eleven years in the town and has not aged a day that anyone can swear to. What does the remembering cost a god who chose, long ago, to be small?

The LOOPED Saga · Part Two

Sathyaraj Natarajan

Science Fiction

Time is not a straight line. It twists, it folds, it loops. And sometimes, it echoes.

What began as an experiment to understand the mysteries of time has led us here to Veloria, an alien world lost in the vastness of space, untouched and undiscovered by humanity until now. Veloria is not just a planet. It is a vault of forgotten history, a silent witness to forces beyond our comprehension — and what was assumed would be a journey of discovery has become a fight for survival. Part Two of The LOOPED Saga returns in a new edition; until it arrives, the first-edition eBook remains available on Amazon.

The Fractured Oath

The LOOPED Saga · Part Three

Sathyaraj Natarajan

Science Fiction

Time broke once. Now it shatters.

The Oathkeepers swore to shield the power of Veloria — but their oath did more than guard a world. It held time itself together. Now the oath is broken, and physicist Dr. Aarav Menon is watching the cracks spread: first the loops, then the echoes, and now something reaching through the fractures — the Unbound, beings from a dimension where time has already collapsed. To seal the breach, Menon and his crew must cross a broken gateway, outrun a countdown written into the universe itself, and confront the truth about Sarren — the alien who broke the oath out of mercy and took the blame in silence. A story of memory, mercy, and what it costs to hold the universe together — best read after LOOPED (Book 1) and Echoes of Veloria (Book 2).

The God Who Forgot

Varun Acharya

Mythological Fiction

He could carry a mountain across the sky. He could not remember that he could.

Told in two braided strands — the Treta Yuga of Rama, Sita, and the great leap to Lanka, and a quiet present day where the divine walks unnoticed — Chiranjivi is a Hanuman novel unlike any other: not a retelling of the epic, but the story of the one who carried it, forgot it, and is still here. For readers who love the great epics retold with heart, humility, and wonder.

Why You Do What You Do

Ananya Iyer

Psychology

You are not lazy, broken, or weak-willed.

You are running old instructions in a new life — and instructions can be rewritten. Why do habits beat intentions? Why does attention leak away before noon? Why do we sabotage the very things we say we want, and why does motivation so often arrive after action instead of before it? Ananya Iyer takes the familiar failures of everyday life — the snoozed alarm, the abandoned plan, the reply never sent — and shows the real machinery underneath each one, drawn from behavioural research and told in plain language. Every chapter ends with one small practice you can test the same day. Understand yourself well enough to stop fighting yourself.

An interlude

Where the writing
and reading begin.

Every book on these shelves began the same way — a blank page, a stubborn hope, and one person who would not put the pen down.

Somewhere tonight, a writer is finishing the last page of a first draft, and a reader is opening the first page of a book they will never forget. Most days, this house exists so that those two pages can find each other.

If you carry a story, this is where it can begin. If you are looking for one, it is already waiting for you.

About the House

Founded in 2026 — a house with long standards, a cared-for list, and readers everywhere.

A book deserves the same care in its publishing as its author gave it in the writing.

Spillway International Publications is an independent publishing house built on that simple belief. It was founded in 2026 by author Sathyaraj Natarajan, and it publishes original fiction, mythology and poetry — from sweeping science-fiction sagas to intimate, single-volume stories.

We believe a book should earn its place on the shelf. The list is deliberately selective: every title on it is one the house can stand behind completely, published in print and — for most — digital editions, and sent out to readers worldwide. Spillway is the publishing house of SAMAYAH.Co, and its catalogue grows the way good libraries do — one carefully chosen book at a time.

Crafted with care — in the writing, in the making, in the reading.

What we publish

Books of every kind. Science fiction and fantasy, mythology retold, crime and conspiracy thrillers, poetry — and the books that refuse every label on this list. If a book earns its place, Spillway can be its home.

How we work

Carefully, and honestly. Every title is edited with attention, designed to sit beside any major house on the shelf, and described exactly as it is — the book you read about here is the book you will hold.

Where our books travel

Everywhere readers are. Our paperbacks ship to readers worldwide; our eBooks travel instantly to Kindle readers everywhere. You will find Spillway titles through leading bookstores and booksellers across the world — Barnes & Noble among them — one house, read across the world.

The Journey of the Word

Every book in this catalogue stands at the end of a journey of more than five thousand years. These are not milestones on a road — they are bends in a river. Follow the water: from the first marks on cave walls to the shelves of this house.

Before writing · c. 5500 BCE

Marks before words

Long before true writing exists, hands are already leaving signs — cave marks and symbol systems, among them the Vinča signs — carrying meaning from one mind to another. What they say is still debated; that they speak is not.

For thousands of years the river runs underground. Then, in two lands at once, it breaks the surface —

c. 3400–3100 BCE

The first true writing

In Mesopotamia, Sumerian cuneiform is pressed into wet clay; in Egypt, hieroglyphs are carved into stone. Picture and sign become language itself — the earliest true writing systems.

The current quickens and turns east, where another people is pressing its own signs into seals —

c. 2600 BCE

The undeciphered script

In the great Harappan cities of the Indus, seals bear more than four hundred signs — a script by every sign of it, and no one has yet read a word of it: the great mystery of the ancient word.

Other waters join the flow. Far to the east, the word learns to ask questions —

c. 1200 BCE

Writing asks the ancestors

China’s oracle-bone characters — questions carved on bone and shell, put to the ancestors, and answered in the cracks the fire leaves behind.

And along the trade winds the signs grow simpler — light enough for anyone to carry —

c. 1050 BCE

Letters for everyone

The Phoenician alphabet pares the sign down to a handful of letters; by c. 800 BCE the Greeks add vowels — and writing becomes something anyone can learn.

The river bends south, and finds a language already ancient in song —

3rd–2nd century BCE

The subcontinent writes

Brahmi spreads across the subcontinent, and Tamil-Brahmi is carved into cave walls. Tamil endures from this age as one of the world’s oldest continuously living languages.

For two thousand years the word still travels at the speed of a scribe’s hand. Then, in a Mainz workshop, it learns to fly —

c. 1440 CE

The press

Gutenberg’s printing press — books multiply beyond the hand of the scribe, and readers multiply with them.

The river widens, gathers speed — and becomes an ocean —

Today

Print & pixel

The word now travels in ink and in light — printed, shipped, and read on a screen before the ink of its making is dry.

— and the journey continues on our shelves.

✦ The House’s Own Story

How Spillway was born.

The word’s journey is five thousand years long. The house’s own is shorter — and it begins, as the river did, with one mark a writer could not stop trying to make.

2016 – 2018

A young writer carries a dream he cannot put down: a book — the story of who he is. Friends listen kindly; some advise him to write it “like normal”. He can’t. And beneath the dream sits a plainer problem he cannot solve at all: he does not know how a book is written, or how one is ever published. He tries anyway — across those years, some four books are planned, begun, written on for a while, then stopped and left pending. Four beginnings, none of them finished. The questions stay with him for years.

2022 – 2024

Years later, the dream takes its first real shape. And here is the turn he still smiles at: it is none of those four. Not one of the pending beginnings came back to life. Something entirely new arrived instead — a book of poems, written fresh and published. Holding the first copy, the questions fall quiet for one clear moment: I’m an author.

Then, a novel

LOOPED refuses to stay one book; it grows into a series, and finds its readers — at times appearing on Amazon’s bestseller lists. The dream is coming true. And still, something feels missing.

The road itself

No one had been there to tell him how any of it worked — so the road taught him. He learned the ways of publishing the hard and tough way: travelling the road of writing and publishing with no one to ask, confusion at every step, and long stretches of waiting between one step and the next. And it was that learning, and that waiting, that turned the dream around: if the way had been this hard for him, he would make it clearer for whoever came next.

October 2026

What was missing was the door he had once stood outside of. So he builds it: Spillway International Publications — a publishing house, and a platform where other writers can begin the same journey with the doors held open — so that another writer can hold a dream book in their hands sooner, and know the way as they walk it.

The book he first dreamed of is still to come.

The house came first.

Publish with Spillway

A selective list each year — of books of every kind. The list is deliberately short: every book on it is one the house can stand behind completely.

Spillway publishes selectively. We read every serious enquiry ourselves, and we take on only a handful of titles each season — the ones we can publish with the care they deserve. There are no reading fees, and no promises are made before a manuscript is read. The house was built by a writer who learned this road the hard way — so its doors stand open to the writers walking it now.

We welcome fiction of every kind — novels and sagas, mythology retold, crime, thrillers, science fiction and fantasy — and poetry besides. If your book refuses every label on that list, it may still be exactly our kind of book: the house tagline is a promise, and it means every kind.

  1. 1

Write to us — a short enquiry describing your book, its genre and its reader, with a few lines about yourself.

  2. 2

Send a synopsis & the first chapter — if the enquiry fits the catalogue, we will ask for these.

  3. 3

Hear back — if we feel the house is right for your book, we will discuss terms openly and in writing.

What happens next is simple: we read everything that reaches us. A short list means many fine books will not find a place on it — and an enquiry is not a promise of publication. But if yours does fit, you will hear from the house itself, and everything agreed will be agreed openly, in writing.

Enquiry

Your enquiry reaches the house inbox directly — we read everything that reaches us.

Questions, Answered

The short answers readers and writers ask the house most.

Where can I buy Spillway books?

On Amazon, where the eBooks are delivered instantly to Kindle readers anywhere in the world; in paperback, shipped to readers worldwide; and through leading bookstores everywhere. The Shop above carries the way to every title available today.

Are eBooks available?

For most titles, yes — in paperback and as eBooks on Amazon Kindle, to read on paper, on a Kindle, or on your phone. The format changes; the story does not.

I have written a book. How do I enquire?

Through Publish with Spillway, above. Tell us about the book; if it fits the list, we will ask for a short synopsis and your opening chapter. We read everything that reaches us.

Does it cost anything to enquire?

No. There are no reading fees, ever — and no promises are made before a manuscript is read. If the house takes your book on, everything is discussed openly and in writing first.
